The Lenten Season is typically one of fasting and prayer. Some folks choose to give something up, change a habit, or take on a new spiritual practice for the 40 days of Lent.
This lent at TMPC we will embark on a church-wide journey of prayer and spiritual growth by exploring fear and its hold on our life through
the sermon series, What Are You Afraid Of? Faith for the Anxious, the Uncertain, and the Barely-Holding-it-Together.

Small Groups
Sometimes it’s hard to feel connected in churches and small groups are a key way to meet new people and grow closer in faith together. The Lenten study is 5 weeks long so it is the perfect time frame to try out a new small group. Our Lenten study groups will use one of three books to guide their discussions. Below you will find information about each book to help you choose which discussion group you would like to join. Use the button at the bottom of the page to sign up for a group.

Unafraid, by Adam Hamilton

A practical and hopeful book about facing fear with faith. Hamilton explores how fear affects our lives and offers a biblical and psychological approach to moving forward with courage and trust in God.
The Sin of Uncertainty, by Peter Enns

Enns challenges the idea that faith is about having all the right answers, arguing instead that true faith is about trust rather than certainty. He invites readers to embrace the mystery of God and grow spiritually through doubt and questioning.
Between the Dark and the Daylight, by Sister Joan Chittister

A deeply reflective book about the paradoxes of life—the tension between doubt and faith, grief and joy, struggle and peace. Chittister explores how these contradictions shape our spiritual journey and lead us to a deeper understanding of God and ourselves.
