Worshiping together is central to who we are as a community at Thompson Church. It is through worship that we are drawn closer to God and to one another. All of our worship gatherings, regardless of their time frame or worship style, focus on the same things: coming together in Christian fellowship, hearing God's Word proclaimed, and being sent into the world to do the work of the Kingdom.

We want to make sure you know where you can join us! All of our worship gatherings take place at Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church. We can be found at 1680 Aquetong Road, New Hope, PA 18938.
NOTE: Some older GPS units (usually with maps from over 10 years ago) use an outdated numbering of Aquetong Road. If you have an older GPS unit, using 288 Aquetong may return a more accurate location. Google Maps returns the most accurate online mapping to Thompson Church.
Worship During the Program Year
During the program year we gather for two different worship services on Sunday mornings. Following each service, we encourage everyone to enjoy a time of fellowship over coffee and light refreshments in our Fellowship Hall.
8:30 Traditional Worship Service: This worship service takes place in our Sanctuary. We read Scripture, pray together, sing hymns, hear special music from our talented choirs and ensembles, and reflect on God's Word through the sermon.
11:00 Contemporary Worship Service: This worship service takes place in our Fellowship Hall. We read Scripture, pray together, and reflect on God's Word through the sermon. Musically, there will be congregational singing and special music in contemporary style led by a small group of music leaders using guitars, keyboards, or percussion instruments.
On the first Sunday of each month we observe the Sacrament of Communion at both of our worship services.
Nursery care is available during both services.
Fifth Sundays: There are a few times during the year when a month contains five Sundays. On those Fifth Sundays, we gather for one worship service at 9:30 a.m. in our Fellowship Hall. These services contain all the elements of our regular worship services, but usually with a special emphasis, such as Missions or Children's Ministry.
Worship During Summer Months
During the summer months we hold one Sunday worship service at 9:30 a.m., usually in the Sanctuary. The worship service combines elements of our program-year services, including weekly sermons, hymns, and special music. We also observe the Sacrament of Communion on the first Sunday of every month. Please note: on the first Sunday in July and August we gather at 9:20 a.m. for a Hymn Sing, where members of the congregation request their favorite hymns and we begin our morning in song; on the last Sunday in July and August, we will gather in Fellowship Hall.
Following the service in the summer, we spend time in fellowship with one another in our courtyard, enjoying lemonade and light refreshments. As usual, nursery care is available during the service.
Special Worship Gatherings
Throughout the year at Thompson Church, we have special worship gatherings to celebrate or remember major events in the life of both our congregation and the broader church. Some of these services, such as Christmas Eve or Easter Sunday, honor historic Christian events, while others, such as our Lenten Prayer Services (held on Wednesday evenings during the season of Lent), offer an opportunity for deeper reflection.
To learn more about these events when they are approaching, see our Featured Events page.
