Small groups gather to share in fellowship and discussion. Several of our small groups are described below. New groups may form around a seasonal study topic or a new members' class. If you are interested in starting a new group, contact Pastor Bailey. To join an existing small group, you are welcome to simply show up!
monday morning Bible Study group
This women’s bible study group meets every Monday at 9:30 AM in the conference room. The group is made up of both members and non-members of Thompson Memorial Church who insure a peaceful and respectful atmosphere. Everyone is welcome!
Although the focus is the study of thought-provoking books based on Christian theology…the group serves multiple purposes.
The multiple purposes include the following:
A place to connect with other believers in fellowship and to grow in understanding of the Bible
Meeting the needs of others in the group in ministry…caring for each other
Opportunity for fellowship and service with participation in providing meals, setting up for rummage sales, funeral luncheons and coffee hours
A safe place to ask questions
A place to share joys and concern
A place to share your needs
Opportunity to ask for prayer and to pray for others
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching (Hebrews 10:25).
TUESDAY MORNING MEN'S GROUP
All men are welcome to join this group that meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays each month at 9:00am in the Conference Room at the church. We usually are reading and discussing a Christian book or doing a small group study.
UNITED PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN (UPW)
On the second Wednesday of each month, UPW meets at 1:00pm in the Conference Room. Presbyterian Women is a worldwide organization of women who come together in the name of Christ to study God's Word and do God's work. One of the big events that our chapter of UPW hosts is a Rummage Sale in the Fall and Spring. Church members, families, and friends from the community donate items for the sale. Every dollar that is earned goes to the ministries and missions of our church. We are always looking for new members of our group, so if you have a heart for service and fun, please feel free to join us.
Theology on tap
Every 1st and 3rd Wednesdays during the school year we meet at HG Pizza in New Hope for dinner at 7:00pm and then we encourage everyone to stick around because at 7:30 we begin the evening's discussion. We discuss theology, worship, the Bible and so much more. This group is lead by one of our Princeton Theological Seminary interns so we get the benefit of their education!
