Opportunities for Youth in 9-12th Grade
Senior High Sunday School is the place to discover God’s truth in a world that bombards youth with so many different messages. Having a chance to talk about their struggles and beliefs helps teens to claim and strengthen their faith. The class uses a Bible-based curriculum and mini-mission projects to challenge our students.
This group meets each Sunday evening from 7:30 - 9:00pm at TMPC. We come together to play games, study, share, and have snacks. We also have special events planned throughout the year for service opportunities and fun outings together. Each summer our high schoolers head out for a week of mission, fun, and growing with God.
The Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church (TMPC) has a great cross-generational drama group that includes anyone from 5th grade through adults. We meet on the third Saturday of the month from 2:00 - 4:00am During our workshops students us skits, improvisation, dramatic readings, and games to improve acting skills. We then use those skills to share God's Word in creative presentations for Sunday School and worship.
From January to May of each year, Pastors Spencer and Pruner teach the Confirmation Class during our educational hour at 9:45am each Sunday morning. This class is designed to help youth discern their call to join the Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church. We believe a young person should be prepared to make this decision freely so that they are prepared to faithfully live out this calling. During this class, we take a deeper look at scripture, theology, church life, and vocation. It is our hope that by the end of this class, each young person will feel prepared and empowered to enter into membership; however, the pastors will stand with every young person, whether she or he decides to join or not join the church at this time.
