Opportunities for Kindergarten-5th Grade

Scavenger Hunt at the Sunday School Celebration

Sunday School

During Sunday School, children get to dive into the Bible to learn more about the Old and New Testament. Using Dwell Curriculum from Faith Alive, our children discover how God is working in the world today and in their own lives.  The activities are presented in a variety of learning styles, which helps our students make personal connections with Jesus in their growing faith.

Junior Church

Students four years old through 2nd grade are welcome to come to Junior Church during our worship services. About halfway through the service, the pastor will excuse the children to the Junior Church Room. At that time, the children learn about the elements of a worship service in a child-friendly manner. We use a Bible story for their sermon and a craft or game for their response to the Word.

Kids' club

Children from kindergarten through 5th grade are welcome to meet on the second Friday of the month for dinner, games, crafts, drama, and a Bible story. The evening begins at 5:30 and ends at 7:30pm. This is a true opportunity for fellowship and fun.  Kids' Club runs from October through May.

Having fun at Drama!

Drama Ministry

The Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church has a great cross-generational drama group that includes anyone from 5th grade through adults. The TMPC Drama Group meets the third Saturday of the month from 2:00 - 4:00pm. During our workshops, students use skits, improvisation, dramatic readings, and games to improve their acting skills. We then use those skills to share God's Word in creative presentations for Sunday School and worship.
